At Peelwood Family Medical Practice, we aim to provide quality healthcare that’s both accessible and fair. To help us maintain this standard, we kindly request your adherence to the following:

Payment for Consultations
All consultations are to be paid in full on the day of the consult.
Missed or Cancelled Appointments
If appointments are missed or cancelled without reasonable notice, a fee of a minimum of $30 will be incurred. Longer consults incur a larger fee. Please note that there is no government rebate for this item.
Fast Track Appointments
Quick script and continual referral appointments available.
Private Billing
Peelwood Medical is a Fully Private Billing practice. All fees are payable at the time of consultation. Fees can be paid by cash, EFTPOS and credit card (Visa and Mastercard).
Age Pension Bulk-Bill
Age Pension Card Holders will be offered Bulk Billing Services after 3 (Three) Private Standard Consults a year.
Seniors Bulk-Bill
Commonwealth Seniors Health Card Holders will be offered Bulk Billing Services after 3 (Three) Private Standard Consults a year.
Concession Card Discounts
Health Care Card Holders will be offered a reduced concession fee.
Children's Bulk-Bill
Children Under 12 will be Bulked Billed, Children 12 & over will pay Private for the first consult.
DVA Gold Bulk-Bill
DVA Gold Card patients are Bulked Billed at all times.
DVA White Approved
DVA White Card patients are Bulked Billed for their approved conditions only.

Surgical Fees

To comply with Medicare Rules, we are unable to Bulk Bill any procedures. Please ask your doctor for a quote prior to a procedure.

Skin Cancer Excisions will be charged according to the appropriate Medicare Item Number after the biopsy results comes back. There will be an out-of-pocket charge on top of the Medicare item number rebate. Ask your Clinician for an estimate.

Work Cover and Motor Vehicle Insurance claims

Where confirmation of the claim number cannot be supplied at the time of consultation, consultation charges for work cover or those covered by insurance will need to be paid by the patient. For claims which have been confirmed as accepted along with a claim number, consultation charges will be invoiced directly.

Non aged pensioner health care card holders will be offered a reduced billing fee. Please contact reception for details.

Concession card holders (i.e. Health care cards, pension cards & etc) are billed at a reduced rate.

Bulk Billing Policy

Clinicians practicing here offer bulk billing services to ONLY the following category of patient:

Children under 16 years old (with valid Medicare Card)

The first 1 (ONE) standard consults will be privately billed. Following that, all other consults will be bulk billed for the year until the next new year cycle.

Aged Pension Card holders (65 years and older)

All Aged Pension Card holders:

The first 3 (three) standard consults for the year will be privately billed. Following that, all other consults will be bulk billed for the year until the next new year cycle (Starts on the 1^st of January every year).

Commonwealth Seniors Health Card Holders

All Commonwealth Seniors Card Holders:

The first 5 (five) standard consults for the year will be privately billed. Following that, all other consults will be bulk billed for the year until the next new year cycle (Starts on the 1^st of January every year)

GP Management Plans, Team Care Arrangements & Health Assessments (Excluding Mental Health Plans)

All GP Management Plans (Care Plans), Team Care Arrangements and Health Assessments (eg. Over 75 Health Assessments) are Bulked Billed.

Note: GP Mental Health Plans are Privately Billed.

Veteran Affairs (Gold and white card)

Veteran with gold card are bulk billed. Veterans with white card are bulk billed only for specific areas.

The payments are based on a calendar year and fees will be collected at the first few visits for the year.

* The practice does not bulk bill patients seen after 5pm on weekdays and on Saturdays.
